The 4th annual "Trails & Trills" ride in Greene County
One of Iowa's slowest and happiest bicycle rides will be held for the fourth time on Saturday, June 7, between Jefferson and Cooper on the Raccoon River Valley Trail in Greene County. It is the "Trails & Trills" ride, for which regional musicians are scattered up and down the eight miles of the trail between the two towns. After a mid-morning start at the Jefferson Depot at the trailhead in that community, riders take a leisurely ride to Cooper, stopping to listen to the performers along the way. In Cooper, lunch is served -- while the music plays on, of course -- and then most people bike back to Jefferson or use the sag service.
